Lee See Ling @ Grace, Violin

 

Lee See Ling @ Grace graduated from University of Hull with both Bachelor of Music (HONS) and Master of Music (Performance) in 2008, majoring in violin performance, second with piano accompaniment and ensemble performance under the tutelage of Dr. Elaine King, Dr. Lee Tsang, Richard Quick and Barbara Parham.

Grace was appointed as concertmaster for the University of Hull Symphony Orchestra, University Chamber Orchestra, Gilbert and Sullivan Orchestra and joint leader for Hull Youth Symphony Orchestra during her study abroad. Her performance was written in Scarborough Newspaper for the outstanding performance during her tour with University of Hull Symphony Orchestra. Besides, she was also playing in Hull Symphony Orchestra and Hull Bach Orchestra as 1st violinist. Despite her busy study and performance schedule, Grace put together a charity concert combining Chinese music with Western Instrument in aid of Kingston Upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire City Council. 

Having returned to Malaysia, she was invited to perform in numerous performances as part of an orchestra, small ensemble, string quartet, choir, and as a soloist. Besides performing, she also taught in Universiti of Technology Mara Shah Alam, Bentley Music Academy, Malaysian Institute of Art, and private couching. She was invited to be one of the juries for The Malaysian Youth Music Festival in 2013 & 2014, external examiner for Malaysian Institute of Art.  Grace furthered her career in Singapore as a Senior Teacher in Edvox Music School, served as a music producer for Talento XI, putting together two orchestras and a junior string ensemble. After returning from Singapore, she served as the Tour Manager for Time Ensemble (an international project vocal ensemble consists of young elites around the world) during their project in Malaysia & Singapore in 2012 and 2015.

Currently residing in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, a music lecturer at Academy of Arts and Creative Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Grace actively involved and serve as concertmaster with the Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra, and chairperson for KK Strings Festival and Music Camp for year 2017-2019. Performing with National Symphony Orchestra, Selangor Symphony Orchestra, RTM Orchestra, Sarawak Festival Orchestra, Klang Chamber Choir, and many more. She also gives masterclasses, workshops, and actively performs around Sabah, Sarawak, Singapore, and Indonesia.
