Lim Zi Shian

Born in 2001, Lim began playing the violin at age four. Although neither of his parents were serious musicians, his late grandfather loved music and Lim grew up listening to classical music. He performed actively since his childhood years in charity events.  He started playing the viola and piano in his teenage years and continues to participate in international charity events and performances in Thailand and Cambodia organized by non-profit organizations like Child Aid Asia Malaysia and H.E.A.R.T. Foundation Cambodia.  Lim was the winner of the Orbifold Music Competition Worldwide Preliminary Round (Malaysia) in 2023.  He is now a student of the SEGi College, Subang Jaya, and a Dean List student throughout his study in the music college.  As the viola principal and the committee member of the Hearts Symphony in Malaysia, Lim is also the scholarship recipient of various awards including the Persatuan Hearts Symphony Leadership & Academics Scholarships and RealMe Cash Award 2022 for his outstanding leadership, performance, and academic achievements.  Lim actively volunteers in food aid projects, and he also teaches marginalized children in welfare homes as one of the facilitators in the Persatuan Hearts Symphony Outreach Program.  Lim wishes to be an educator who can benefit the communities around him in the future.
